ABOUT THE PROJECT
AfriLabs is looking to engage an expert to deliver engaging, context-relevant training sessions, based on a capacity building framework. These sessions will be delivered in a 3-day in-person workshop in August 2025.
The overarching objective of the workshop is to build the capacities of a hub network in DRC and its member hubs in areas critical to ecosystem development. The workshop will equip hub executives, staff and hub members with practical tools and knowledge to implement effective innovation support programmes and strengthen their organizational and managerial framework.
SCOPE OF WORK
The selected facilitators will:
- Co-develop session content and materials
- Deliver training during Days 1 and 2 of the workshops (skill-building focus)
- Facilitate interactive exercises (case studies, simulations, role play)
- Participate in the Day 3 Ecosystem Forum and support group discussions
- Provide post-session feedback summaries and recommendations
RENUMERATION & PAYMENT TERMS
- Renumeration Range ($600- $800)
- Payment will be made in full (100%) upon satisfactory completion and delivery of services and will be subject to the applicable tax deduction.
TENTATIVE TIME COMMITMENT
- Preparation Phase: 1 week prior to the workshop (August 11th – August 16th, 2025)
- Workshop Delivery: 3 days (August 20th – August 22nd, 2025)
- Follow-up & Reporting: 1 week (documentation/reporting) (August 25th – August 30th, 2025)
- All deliverables will be done physically (Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification
- At least 5 years of experience facilitating capacity-building sessions in the innovation/startup ecosystem
- Proficiency in English and French
- Excellent public speaking and facilitation skills

EVALUATION CRITERIA:
Evaluation of each applicant will be based on the following:
- Technical Proposal (65%)
- Submission of the requested documents as outlined in the method of application for each category
- Proof of required qualification and expertise
- Proof of work done in relation to the requested scope
- Financial Proposal (35%)
- Financial proposal should be submitted in USD and kindly indicate if the amount proposed is negotiable or not.
- Validity of the financial proposal should be minimum of 6 months.
