MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices is a result-oriented social enterprise, which uses modern
management and marketing techniques to provide reproductive health care and allied services. MSI
Nigeria’s goal is to meet the needs of underserved Nigerians and dramatically improve access and use
of a range of reproductive health services.
MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices is part of Marie Stopes International’s Global Partnership which is in
over 37 countries worldwide and it operates in Nigeria through six service delivery channels.

POSITION: REGIONAL MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ADVISOR
LOCATION: ENUGU
OBJECTIVES:
This role is part of the Marketing and Communications Team working directly to support efficient and
effective community mobilization activities, strengthen accountability, improved partnerships, policy
advocacy, corporate visibility, youth engagement, and stakeholder mobilization.
S/he will serve as liaison, facilitating new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with policy
makers, religious/traditional and youth gatekeepers at national and state levels. Helping to drive the
broader MSI Nigeria partnership goals.
S/he will lead and facilitate innovative youth engagement and MSI Nigeria responsiveness to youth
mobilization and service provision.
S/he will lead the regional advocacy and services marketing component of all existing and new projects
within the region.
S/he is required to synergize with the Regional Manager and other teams within the region in the effective
delivery of tasks and expected results.
The post holder is required to demonstrate initiative; energy; persistence; results orientation; drive;

of work against these responsibilities.


OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate Community mobilization activities and strengthen accountability: Initiate and provide
support system for effective and efficient community mobilization.
o Supervise and support SBCC Officers in the region of coverage to conduct effective mobilization.
o Facilitate and ensure proper community entry activities are conducted by mobilisers during
mobilization.
o Ensure standard and prompt delivery of mobilization activities by mobilisers against set MSI
Nigeria’s indicators.
o Lead training of mobilisers and community level volunteers on MSI Nigeria thematic areas.
o Provide on the spot check of mobilization activities in implementation communities.
o Support implementation of Human Centered Design (HCD) and other innovative demand
generation and marketing activities in the region.
o Support cohort of mobilisers in development and implementation of annual and quarterly work
plans.
o Support marketing and mobilization training during onboarding clinical providers.
o Support equitable distribution of marketing and communication materials across the regions with
all key stakeholders, the media, and other partners that impact the work of MSI Nigeria.

Lead content development for MSI Nigeria communication/documentation:
S/he is required to identify, develop, document, and promptly report high impact success stories and
communication content to meet the needs of the region and the entire MSI Nigeria e.g., Newsletter
stories, Blog and social media content, action photographs, etc.
o Lead the content generation and documentations of communication materials for various uses
o Identify, penetrate and facilitate dissemination of MSI Nigeria content on strategic social media
groups with high following of youth, adolescent, and Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) to
increase visibility and referral to MSI Nigeria service providers and products.
Lead Demand Creation and Marketing;
o Articulate a clear demand generation (DG) strategy specific for channels of operation.
o Conduct a clear on-going analysis of the market, by segment, location, accessibility to promote
products on the project.
o Ensure complete referral and service uptake at the facility level.
o Ensure effective mobilization of clients to service providers.
o Implement innovative methods for effective contact center marketing.
o Responsible for achieving target numbers of service uptake on the projects.
Advocacy/External Relations, Communication and Representation of MSI Nigeria;
Lead in the formation of effective partnerships within the development arena to increase collaboration
and recognition for MSI Nigeria’s work; Influence policy, and grant making decisions of donors within the
region:
o Ensure visibility and raise the profile of MSI Nigeria among key stakeholders, including donors
and partners.
o Participate and represent MSI Nigeria in regional/state level Sexual and Reproductive Health
(SRH) technical working group meetings and maintain professional relationship with
strategically placed individuals within target institutions.
o Create and explore all opportunities to highlight MSI Nigeria’s policy messages and technical
expertise to a wider audience through media channels and special events, linking with the
regional manager, communications and clinical teams as required.
o Monitor and report relevant state and regional health and development policy developments.
o Build strong relationships with key policy makers and cooperating with partners in order to
influence policy change and place MSI Nigeria in a strong position.
o Identify key policy and advocacy issues affecting SRH and MSI Nigeria interventions at regional
and state levels and report same quarterly.
o Conduct quarterly socio-political analysis framework to understand and advise management on
clients/community’s experiences resulting from intersections of culture, politics and religion
across MSI Nigeria’s regional offices.
o Engage with critical stakeholders in the SRH industry and position MSI Nigeria as a family
planning and sexual and reproductive health thought leader.
Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation
o Track and report all advocacy and mobilization engagements in the region.
o Test run advocacy and communication materials in conjunction with RM&E unit before finalization
and deployment for general population use.
o Prepare and submit monthly technical, progress and program monitoring reports to MSI Nigeria
and donors according to schedules and guidelines or as relevant for management decision to
line managers.
o Use routine data from CliC and the Marketing Activities Reporting (MAR) template to target
demand generation effort and reach clients more effectively.
Others
o Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the line manager and/or management.
o Willingness to travel within and outside the country as maybe required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o BSc/BA Degree in communication, Arts, marketing and related field; MA/MSc in these areas
would be an added advantage.
o Proven abilities to set priorities, to multi-task, and to work collaboratively across technical
disciplines.
o Possess outstanding professional reputation and have strong demonstrated interpersonal,
written, and oral presentation skills.
o Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind-sets and provide reasons
and solutions for change.
o Excellent spoken and written English
o Good computer skills (particularly Word, Excel and database)
o Technical expertise in the area of advocacy, demand creation/marketing, social marketing,
reproductive health, maternal, HIV and/or child health preferred Excellent leadership and
management aptitude in leading diverse teams remotely.
o Pro-choice.
o Flexibility to operate in a changing environment and strong change management skills.
o High Decision and initiation skills
