- The successful candidate will provide strategic and thoughtful leadership for developing and executing marketing strategy tailored to the specific needs of the region.
What to expect:
- Develop and implement regional marketing strategy (operational plans, brand & promotional-mix) to meet regional performance and revenue targets in collaboration with sales and other stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of regional marketing plans with global marketing strategy.
- Ensure brand consistency and integrity across all regional marketing initiatives.
- Oversee the development and execution of regional branding campaigns and promotional activities.
- Engage the field sales force, key enterprise customers and other resources to capture regional response to promotional activities and campaigns.
- Identify, engage and maintain relationships with key customers in the region.
- Support the design and periodic review of differential pricing strategy in the region for all brands.
- Support the identification of new products across different categories of relevance.
- Monitor regional needs, competition and business performance to proactively provide the field sales force with adequate support.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of marketing professionals within the region.
- Conduct regional training programs to impart product knowledge to field sales force.
- Collect and analyze regional primary/ secondary sales data to present monthly dashboard reports to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other functions such as Medical Affairs, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Regulatory etc. to create synergy.
Essential qualifications, experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy/ Life Sciences. Tertiary qualifications such as MBA in Marketing highly preferred.
- 12- 15 years’ experience in marketing, with minimum 3-5 years’ in a regional/ cluster role ideally within pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of regional market dynamics.
- Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with functional teams, agency partners and business teams.
- Strong communication skills to push on ground activation agenda.
- Strong analytical skills, understanding consumer needs/ trends and problem-solving approach.
- Experience of working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues in a complex multi-country, matrix environment is preferred.
- Prior experience working in West Africa is mandatory.
- Open to travel within the region, as needed.
