Hope and Rural Aid Foundation (HARAF) is a National non – profit organization functioning since 2011 but was officially registered under the corporate affairs commission (CAC) of the federal government of Nigeria in the year 2016 with registration number RN: CAC/IT/:85536. HARAF are into humanitarian and development activities with full operational presence and offices in Adamawa, Borno, Yobe with field offices in Michika and Calabar. The head office in Yola. The organization works in the Food Security and Livelihood, Protection (Child Protection/GBV), Education and Shelter/CCCM Thematic areas.
HARAF plans to implement complimentary livelihoods activities particularly to introduce livelihoods interventions to build their capacity by contributing to their basic food needs and ultimately reduce the cost of life savings interventions over time. This will also provide opportunity to utilize the otherwise idle labour, mostly from youth who are caught in humanitarian crisis through Entrepreneurship, Livelihood Intervention Skills acquisition and Financial Literacy Training at selected communities of Yola South LGA, Adamawa state.

Responsibilities
Protection monitoring and referrals
- Mapping of services available for IDPs; Developing referral pathways/mechanisms;
- Monitoring of the needs of displaced population with main focus on persons with special needs (women, children, elderly, disabled etc.);
- Management of individual cases;
- Planning/participation in group-based psychosocial support activities for men, women, adolescents and children
- Planning/participation in Rapid Needs Assessments to understand protection needs of target populations;
- Delivery of humanitarian aid
- Provide advice and guidance as well as referrals to IDPs on issues related to accessing required services;
- Provide individual, needs-based assistance to IDP families based on internal guidelines developed by HARAF;
- Support community-based protection committees in identification of protection risks in the community and addressing such risks;
Training and capacity building:
- Participation and support to Protection Sector working Group as required;
- Provide trainings/capacity building to duty bearers, international and local NGOs and IDP communities on protection related issues (guiding principles of IDP protection; child protection; SGBV etc.);
- Participation in psychosocial activities targeting women, children, adolescents, adults;
- Internal/External Coordination and Representation
- Represent the project at the relevant coordination fora with partner organizations as well as duty bearers when/if required;
Reporting & Accountability:
- Collect and maintain project data ensuring the highest standards of data protection and confidentiality.
- Prepare high quality and timely internal reports and provide input in drafting donor reports and other project related documents as required.
- Produce high quality and timely reports for HARAF and donors within agreed deadlines.
- Comply with all relevant HARAF policies and procedures, particularly with respect to child protection, the code of conduct, and security.
