CARE BEST INITIATIVE (CBI) is a growing woman-led National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2019 and presently operational in the BAY states within the North-East. Our actions are to save lives, alleviate the suffering of children, women and other vulnerable people; and to maintain human dignity during and in the after math of man–made crises and natural disasters; as well as to prevent and strengthen preparedness for the occurrence of such situation; and to promote the right of children, women and vulnerable people in the society. CBI is partnering with Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF) to improve access to the prevention and treatment services of acute malnutrition among children, pregnant and breastfeeding women; and reduce morbidity and mortality among these vulnerable groups. ROLE

The Project Officer will manage important relationships across agencies, and design, manage and implement activities that build capacity in areas linked to Prospera’s strategic goals.

RESPOSIBILITY

  • Support to plan, design and deliver project activities in accordance with the CBI Operations Manual
  • Ensure short-term contracts are managed in accordance with their terms of reference
  • Monitor activity and budget implementation
  • Develop and maintain a sound network of government and other stakeholder counterparts
  • Actively contribute to engagement area reporting systems
  • Undertake a range of administrative duties and tasks that may reflect substantial variety and complexity
  • Undertake a record keeping system and ensure it is in line with CBI’s record management guidelines
  • Provide support to CBI’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team with activity tracking and monitoring, data collection, database administration, and M&E related coordination with counterparts, as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience as a project officer or in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Supervisory and management experience.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak Hausa, Kanuri and English
