The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Governance Officer

Location: Cairo, Egypt (CAF Headquaters)

Job Details

  • You believe you have the educational background and professional experience to elevate the organization to the highest international standards? CAF is looking to recruit a Project Governance Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in facilitating and implementing effective Capacity Building strategies and initiatives
  • Act as a central point for Capacity Building initiatives and programmes
  • Support the MAs analysis and assessment of Capacity Building needs.
  • Coordinate Capacity Building projects/programmes within MAs.
  • Provide the MAs Director with regular status report on implementation of projects and support provided to the MAs.
  • Support the internal communication team, public relations & social media
  • Develop and support other division in developing Capacity training plans, monitor and report on plan implementation.
  • Assist in designing and developing of training modules for MAs as relevant.
  • Support in preparatory work for CAF events such as workshops, seminars etc.
  • Foster connections between CAF and other organisations such as NGOs, Confederations, etc. 
  • Report on social responsibility activities to the MAs Director in coordination with CSR Team.
  • Ensure CAF and its programme has a positive impact on local communities in our MAs.
  • Work closely with the Head of African School Programme, and the Executive Directors on Capacity Building initiatives.
  • Provide input to budget planning process; adhere to and track the budget.
  • Prioritize and resolve issues through creative problem-solving skills; recognize and balance priorities of eliminating the root causes of problems.
  • Work in coordination with organizations, academics, and other external stakeholders, to further the Capacity Building objectives.

Requirements (Profile)

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Management, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ experience, in a similar position. 
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken is a must; and knowledge of French is an advantage. 
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Willingness to travel.
