Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.

FRAD work with the Mission to build the Resilience of vulnerable populations using locally available solutions that ensure participation and bring meaningful development, leaving no one behind. Our Mission and Vision guides our programming to ensure no one is left behind  

Position: Project Coordinator

Job Type: Contract

Qualification:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., human resources, sociology, and organizational psychology) required, Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Humanitarian working context with 3-5 years of experience.

Location: Maiduguri

Functions / Day to day activities:

The day-to-day activity of the Project Coordinator is as follows:

  • Developing, maintaining and monitoring project plans and project schedules,
  • Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings,
  • Coordination and follow-up of project tasks and actions,
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings,
  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings,
  • Ensuring project deadlines are met,
  • Providing administrative support as needed,
  • Undertaking project tasks as required,
  • Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project,
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable,
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.

The day-to-day activity of the DEI Coordinator is as follows

  • Collaborate with HR to ensure DEI principles are integrated into FRAD’s recruitment, hiring, and retention processes.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness and promote cultural competence among FRAD’s staff.
  • Serve as a resource and point of contact for employees regarding DEI matters, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate DEI initiatives, collecting data and feedback to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about best practices and trends in DEI and recommend adjustments to FRAD’s policies and practices accordingly.
  • Foster partnerships with external organizations and communities to support DEI objectives.
  • Communicate DEI priorities, initiatives, and progress through various internal channels, such as newsletters, intranet, and staff meetings.
  • Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of FRAD, promoting a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
  • Solicit feedback from employees, leaders, and stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of the DEI initiatives.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance FRAD’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • Stay informed about emerging research, trends, and best practices in DEI to continuously refine strategies and approaches for FRAD’s interest.
  • Respond to reports of discrimination, harassment, or other DEI-related incidents in FRAD.
  • Investigate complaints, provide support to affected individuals, and facilitate resolution processes.
  • Work with HR and leadership to address systemic issues and prevent future incidents.
  • Collaborate with employee resource groups to support their initiatives and activities.
  • Provide resources, guidance, and assistance to ERGs to help them advance their goals and objectives.
  • Foster connections and collaboration among different ERGs to promote intersectionality and inclusivity.

Requirement:

  • Previous experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion roles preferred.
  • Strong understanding of DEI principles, issues, and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate training sessions and workshops.
  • Analytical skills to assess data and measure the impact of DEI initiatives.
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and equitable work environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Good computer knowledge and skills.
  • Be able to prioritize tasks.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Able to operate in extremely harsh living and working environments.
  • Gender awareness and sensitivity.
  • Commitment to the vision and mission of FRAD Foundation. In particular, a good understanding of FRAD’s mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
  • PSEA and Safeguarding certificate
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Fluency in Hausa and one of the languages spoken in North-East Nigeria is preferable.
