Background

Concern for Women and Children Development Foundation (COWACDI) is a women-led organization born out of passion for the wellbeing of Women and Children in Nigeria. It has a special interest in mitigating the suffering of the vulnerable persons (mostly Women & Children) in times of crisis. Currently the organization has focused its attention on the Northeast of Nigeria with special emphasis in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states (BAY states) due to the decade old crises. COWACDI intervenes through community-based approach in addressing humanitarian and development needs since its establishment in 1998, these include in Protection, Peace Building, Housing Land & Property (HLP), Non- food Items (NFI), Livelihood, WASH, Nutrition, Livelihood, amongst others. These interventions have directly benefited thousands of children, women, men, girls and boys of all groups. Determined to expand her interventions to reach more vulnerable people in conflict affected regions. COWACDI operates with full respect to humanitarian laws, concrete policies and principles of international standard such as humanity, Do no harm, impartiality, neutrality, independency and accountability to affected population and zero Tolerance to Fraud and related activities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Employment Type:      PART TIME.

Location:                      Kebbi State (with frequent travels to field locations).

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Support project management and implementation activities.
  • Ensure timely coordination between team members and stakeholders.
  • Assist in monitoring project progress, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Maintain documentation, reports, and records.
  • Act as a communication bridge between project staff, management, and external partners.
  • Contribute to the smooth execution of project plans and schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain project documents, including reports, minutes, and presentations.
  • Monitor project timelines and follow up on pending tasks.
  • Assist in budgeting, expense tracking, and procurement activities.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Provide logistical support for field visits and events.
  • Assist in data collection, entry, and analysis for project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Respond to internal and external communications related to the project.

Tasks

  • Draft and submit project reports on time.
    • Maintain updated project files and databases.
    • Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of project activities.
    • Assist in preparing budgets and monitoring expenditure.
    • Support project staff in day-to-day operations.

More specifically, the PA will

  • Identify 400 English and/or Hausa-speaking FLWs with personal devices, distributed roughly equally across the LGAs.
  • Conduct one-day, in-person training sessions to equip FLWs with the skills to use the Connect platform and engage with the AI interviewer.
  • Support: Provide ongoing remote technical assistance to FLWs through July.

Other tasks:

  • Assist in grant proposal writing or donor communications.
  • Support in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities.
  • Conduct research or background checks for project planning.
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners.
  • Carry out any other administrative duties assigned by the HoP.
  • Will coordinate and lead the team, be the head of base in the location

Desirable Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Basic financial literacy and budget tracking.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, MS Project).
  • Interpersonal skills for teamwork and stakeholder engagement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team, flexible, proactive, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to write basic reports and official correspondence.
  • Proficiency in English Language and Hausa (both written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel to field locations when required.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

  • BSc/HND In Social Science, Project Management, Business Administration or related field
  • NYSC Certificate or Exemption Letter.
  • 1–3 years of experience in project support, administration, or coordination preferably in an NGO or development organization.
  • Additional certifications in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Humanitarian Leadership, Gender and Social Inclusion, or strategic program development are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of donor regulations.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in multicultural settings.

Language required:

Fluency in oral and written English is required. Hausa and Native Language of the area would be an added advantage.
