Main objective and responsibility of the position:

We are looking for a program manager to be responsible for organizing programs and activities for our organization. You will be tasked with developing programs to support the organizations strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term goals. You will also be in charge of developing budgets and operating plans for programs and writing program funding proposals.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have prior experience in both program management and team management.

Program Manager Roles and Responsibility

  • Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
  • Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Creating and managing long-term goals.
  • Developing an evaluating programs to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Writing program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery in project implementation.
  • Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including donor requirements, safety of the team, quality of projects implemented, and team member performance.
  • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Meeting with the implementation team and Donor backstops to make communication easy and transparent regarding program issues and decisions on program implementation.
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.
  • Analyzing program risks and advising all stakeholders appropriately.
  • Working on strategies for excellent service delivery with the implementing team.

Communicating with Impact

  • Communicates clearly and confidently with project team to engage, influence, promote and dialogue. This is to ensure timely delivery, confidence and trust.

Requirements (Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge)

Education

Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Public Administration, project management, business administration or related any social/management science field.

Experience

At least 2 years experience in delivering program/ developmental-related jobs

Languages         

Essential English language and local language is desirable

Knowledge

Computer literacy and usage of office technologies.

Competencies

  • Proven experience in program management.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven experience managing a team.
  • Proven experience working on hard to reach communities
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of project management.
