Position Summary
The Programme Coordinator – Somalia will lead, coordinate, and oversee HOPE360’s projects and field operations within Somalia. The role ensures effective planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and representation of the organization at national and subnational levels. The Programme Coordinator will work closely with the Country Office, Programme teams, and support departments to ensure high quality, principled, and accountable humanitarian response in line with global and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Leadership & Management
- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of humanitarian and development projects in Somalia.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to donor and HOPE360 standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field teams.
Coordination & Representation
Represent HOPE360 in coordination fora, clusters, and with local authorities, partners, and donors.
Strengthen partnerships with INGOs, NGOs, government ministries, UN agencies, and community leaders.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)
- Oversee MEAL processes to ensure quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Promote learning, accountability, community feedback mechanisms, and adaptive programming.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Monitor programme budgets and expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and humanitarian principles.
Safety & Risk Management
Support the implementation of security policies and ensure staff safety during programme activities. Ensure risk assessments and mitigation measures are in place for all field operations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Humanitarian Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s degree an added advantage).
Minimum 4–5 years experience in humanitarian or development programme management.
Prior experience working in Somalia or similar complex emergency contexts.
Strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, donor regulations, and project cycle management.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate with government, UN clusters, NGOs, and community actors.
Excellent communication (English and Somali preferred), report writing, and leadership skills.
Ability to travel frequently to field locations and work under pressure in volatile environments.
