Job Title: Program Officer (Strong M & E Background)

Job Summary
- The Program Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating projects across thematic areas.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience in M&E tools and methodologies and will serve as a bridge between field activities, learning, and results-based reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead program implementation by planning, coordinating, and monitoring ongoing projects across sectors such as health, nutrition, WASH, and protection.
- Develop and implement robust M&E frameworks, including logical frameworks, indicators, data collection plans, and learning strategies.
- Coordinate needs assessments, baseline/midline/endline evaluations, and other studies to inform programming.
- Design and manage M&E databases and ensure the accuracy and consistency of data entry and analysis.
- Draft donor reports, progress updates, and learning briefs that capture both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Support proposal development, especially in the design of logframes, theories of change, and measurable indicators.
- Facilitate training and mentoring of field staff and partners on M&E tools, data collection methods, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct field visits to track progress and ensure program activities are on schedule and aligned with work plans.
- Coordinate regular reflection meetings with program staff to analyze findings and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure inclusive program design and culturally relevant monitoring processes.
- Ensure compliance with donor and organizational standards for project implementation and data quality.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in program management and M&E in the humanitarian or development sector.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools (KoboToolbox, ODK, Excel, SPSS, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferably:
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working with donors such as USAID, UNICEF, UN-OCHA, or NHF.
- Fluent in Hausa and/or Kanuri.
