Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive In-Country Program Officer to oversee and implement our initiatives in Nigeria. The successful candidate will work closely with two selected public primary schools in Oredo and Ikpoba Okha local government areas to enhance educational outcomes through various literacy programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and collaborate with two public primary schools—one in Oredo local government and one in Ikpoba Okha local government—that will benefit from the African Literacy Project initiatives.
- Gather and ensure the accuracy of key metrics such as school attendance, test scores, and other relevant data to assess the effectiveness of interventions.
- Provide daily reports and assessments on the progress of specific literacy interventions and projects.
- Manage the African Literacy Project social media accounts, creating engaging content and collaborating with content creators to grow and promote our online presence.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by management to support the organization’s goals.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of public education systems in Nigeria, particularly in Edo State.
- Experience in program management, data collection, and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must reside in Benin City, Edo State.
- Familiarity with educational initiatives and community engagement is a plus.
