Job Summary
The Program Manager will oversee and coordinate all projects related to health, education, and agriculture. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful implementation of programs, meeting project goals, and managing resources effectively. The Program Manager will work closely with the project team, field staff, and external stakeholders to achieve the NGO’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of TB project, health, education, and agriculture projects.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget specification.
- Develop weekly, monthly and bi-annual project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise project staff.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with government agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and present timely reports on project progress to stakeholders.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess project impact.
- Ensure data collection, analysis, and reporting are conducted accurately and timely.
- Financial Management:
- Oversee project budgets and ensure financial accountability.
- Approve project expenditures and ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Resource Mobilization:
- Identify funding opportunities and write grant proposals.
- Develop partnerships with other organizations and agencies to leverage resources.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, or Development Studies or Social Sciences, or a any related field.
- Master’s degree in a Social and health Science or any relevant field is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably within an NGO or international development organization.
- Proven experience managing multi-sector projects, particularly in health, education, and agriculture.
- Experience in resource mobilization and grant writing.
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and team leadership.
Skills
- Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Ability to develop project plans, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Financial Management: Strong budgeting and financial management skills. Ability to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Proficiency in designing and implementing M&E frameworks. Ability to analyse data and report on project impact.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and networking skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of the local context and issues related to Health, Education, and Agriculture.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Office, project management software).
