We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Development Officer

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Description

  • The Foundation seeks a Program Development Officer (PDO) to support program strengthening and expansion efforts. Reporting to the Foundation Strategic Advisor, the PDO will manage the development of new programs of the Foundation, including a youth skills empowerment program.
  • He/she will manage all phases of program development and delivery, including program conceptualization, development of implementation frameworks, budgeting, program management, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and proposal writing where applicable. He/she will engage in research and analysis to collect information that contributes to the Foundation’s ability to make strategic and informed decisions about its programs and initiatives, and deliver relevant, responsive and quality programs in line with its mission.
  • The PDO will be expected to keep abreast of developments in the three strands of the Foundation’s work in order to identify and respond to emerging opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead/participate in the development and implementation of designated portfolio of programs including program design and proposal writing activities
  • Conduct and present researches and analysis on programs
  • Work collaboratively with Strategic Advisor and liaise with external partners to ensure coordinated and seamless execution of programs and events
  • Monitor delivery of programs to maintain or improve quality
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts in sectors relevant to the Foundation’s work, including but not limited to youth and digital skills development
  • Monitor program implementation schedules for adherence or adjustments where necessary
  • Monitor program expenditure and ensure cost control as part of overall program management
  • Coordinate and participate in planning and status meetings
  • Prepare periodic program reports
  • Conduct program related presentations when needed
  • Identify and secure sponsorships and grants for programs and events
  • Coordinate writing, production and distribution of collateral material, including web content, for programs and events
  • Work with the Head of Administration to create organisational systems, including knowledge management systems
  • Perform a variety of other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Sciences field
  • Up to five years post NYSC work experience
  • Experience working on social development projects
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate multiple projects
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as being a strong team player
  • Ability to be flexible and thrive in a creative and evolving environment with competing deadlines and multiple tasks
  • Excellent work planning and organisational skills
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft applications.
