Procurement & Logistics Officer At Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) – Adamawa


Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is an indigenous non-governmental organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting a broad range of global health programs, education, research, and livelihoods initiatives in Nigeria. In anticipation of a potential award from USAID on the Accelerating Control of the HIV Epidemic in Nigeria (ACE) with focus on the BAY (Borno, Adamawa, Yobe) states, the following positions are open for consideration to all qualified candidates. AHNi currently has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.

Procurement & Logistics Officer: will work with AHNi’s Procurement Manager to plan and implement systems and policies that guide all operations related to procuring supplies and services (in accordance with AHNi policy and donor requirements) at the Project Head and State Offices. Undertake local purchasing in accordance with AHNi’s Procurement Policy and Operations Handbook standards. S/he will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring procurement plan. Also, s/he will be responsible for from time-to-time prequalifying vendors and ensuring that procurements are done within the confines of sound procurement principles (equity, economy, transparency, efficiency and openness). S/he will be responsible for ad-hoc constituting team that will inspect, certify ad receive goods and services delivered by vendors Support the logistic/store officer to receive delivery of materials into the store or warehouse, advise on methods to improve receiving, storing, and distributing materials and supplies and maintain stock control records. Verify quantities of goods delivered, inspect for damage, and sign delivery tags. Provide warehousing and inventory control, prepare and maintain records concerning the receipt and issuance of materials from and into the store.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • BA/BSc in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management or relevant degree with 4-6 years’ years post-national youth service relevant experience.
  • Experience in procuring requirements of significant complexity and value •             
  • Substantial knowledge of standard logistics procedures and practices required
  • Ability to multitask and deal with stressful situations.
