Role Overview
- We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nutrition Program Officer to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of WIMROF’s nutrition-focused initiatives.
- The successful candidate will play a key role in improving the health and well-being of underserved communities by developing and delivering targeted nutrition programs.
- This includes working closely with the programs and health teams to promote sustainable nutrition practices and ensure measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement nutrition programs that address the specific needs of target communities.
- Conduct assessments to identify nutritional gaps and develop intervention strategies.
- Provide technical guidance on nutrition-related issues to WIMROF staff and stakeholders.
- Develop educational materials and organize training sessions on healthy eating and nutrition.
- Collaborate with the health and program teams to integrate nutrition into broader health initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate program impact through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Liaise with community leaders and stakeholders to promote program acceptance and participation.
- Prepare program reports for internal use and donor reporting.
- Stay updated on global best practices and guidelines related to nutrition and health.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing nutrition programs.
- Strong knowledge of community-based nutrition strategies and interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and produce clear, actionable reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience working with underserved communities is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
