Job Location: Yunusari LGA, Yobe State.
Contract/Duration: 1 year with possibilities of extension (3 months’ probation period)
POSITION SUMMARY
Community Mobilizers will provide support to TAIMAKO-CDI programs in areas of implementation of Nutrition and food security. He/She will Conduct frequent field visits to all project sites to ensure that community is involved as per project strategy
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of Nutrition officer and the Project Manager, and in collaboration with the Field Officers, and other collaborators at the project location, he/she will:
- Liaise with local authorities, partners, community and TAIMAKO-CDI involved staff to guarantee the smooth operation of the activities
- Assist partners in the organization and implementation of awareness campaign
- Assist in the organization and participate in all Steering Committee and Working Group meetings
- Support informal sector operators’ in the process of formalization in order to be able to provide waste-related services and value-chain support
- Inform the community on the date and venue of the awareness raising sessions in the project area.
- Coordinate with the trainers the development of each session.
- Work directly in the field with children, families, teachers and other stakeholders of the activity locations.
- Provide correct information to the beneficiaries on the scope and strategy of the project
- Produce timely reports for internal use on the activities highlighting best practices and lessons learnt.
- Ensure that data is accurately collected on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Attend meetings with the Project Manager and the whole TAIMAKO-CDI staff.
- Capture success stories and lessons learned in each phase of program implementation.
- Follow up on all logistics needed for the identified tasks.
- Perform any other tasks as requested by the Project Manager
- Ensure that any matter that requires attention is reported for direct action
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences
- Previous experience working in humanitarian projects
- Proven interest & commitment to humanitarian and development principles and a demonstrable understanding of conflict/post conflict development contexts.
- Desired Competencies / Skills
- 1-2 years CRM related work experience with an NGO
- Experience in data collection, collation, analysis, and report writing
- Fluency in English
- Ability to plan and organize work and write clear and concise reports and communicate effectively (both in writing and verbally)
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Stable, moral, reliable and robust character and a good team-player
- Excellent communication skills, calm, with a good sense of humor
- Proven commitment to accountability practices
- Excellent Microsoft Office & statistical soft wares skills (Excel, Word, Power point, SPSS, Emails, Skype, Web researchers)
- Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local context
- Previous humanitarian programming experience
- Knowledge of the local language (Hausa and Kanuri) • Female applicants are highly encouraged to apply.
