About The Role
- Seeking an exceptional commercial strategist with 3-5+ years of experience in agri-business modelling and financial analysis to drive dual-sided revenue for smallholder farmers and One Acre Fund by scaling paid tree offerings across all locations.
Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy:
- Design, iterate, and own the long-term Trees Revenue Strategy, establishing viable monetization pathways for tree-based products and services.
- Develop frameworks to define paid program offerings, pricing structures, delivery mechanisms, and unit economics across diverse farmer segments.
- Build robust financial models to evaluate business viability, margin profiles, and return on investment for both OAF and participating smallholder farmers.
- Explore and pilot alternative revenue streams, such as carbon finance integration, high-value timber/non-timber product monetization, and fruit aggregation.
Farmer Integration:
- Design and execute a cross-selling and conversion strategy targeting a minimum 30% adoption rate of secondary OAF products (credit, cash products, extension, and market aggregation) among Trees program farmers.
- Collaborate with FOPs, Product Innovations, and Market Access units on viable pathways to bundle tree offerings with core agricultural inputs and financial products.
- Map farmer journeys and conversion funnels to identify touchpoints, drop-off risks, and incentive structures that drive cross-unit product adoption.
Market Aggregation & Value Chain Linking:
- Partner with Market Access and commercial teams to design sustainable off-take, aggregation, and market linkages for tree fruits and timber.
- Analyze regional value chains to identify market demand, quality specifications, and pricing dynamics that maximize farmer margins.
- Test scalable delivery and aggregation models that reduce transaction costs for rural logistics and buyer connection.
Pilot Execution & Strategic Frameworks:
- Lead high-priority commercial pilots from concept to validation, defining KPIs, testing hypotheses, and measuring revenue outcomes in field settings.
- Translate pilot learnings into scalable standard operating frameworks, playbooks, and strategic recommendations for program leadership.
- Conduct willingness-to-pay assessments, pricing sensitivity studies, and market research to inform product positioning.
Stakeholder Alignment & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Present strategic business cases, conversion data, and revenue projections to executive leadership and department leads to secure cross-functional buy-in.
Career Growth and Development:
- We have a strong culture of constant learning and we invest in developing our people.
- You’ll have weekly check-ins with your manager, access to mentorship and training programs, and regular feedback on your performance. We hold career reviews every six months, and set aside time to discuss your aspirations and career goals.
