Mithrive Initiative for Development is a youth-driven nonprofit working to empower individuals and communities affected by conflict and poverty. We are currently recruiting Life Skills Facilitators to lead impactful and interactive sessions with adolescents and young people in Maiduguri, Borno State.
This position is suited for passionate, creative, and youth-focused individuals who can inspire and guide young people in developing essential life skills for personal growth, social responsibility, and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
1. Facilitation of Life Skills Training
• Deliver dynamic, age-appropriate sessions on communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, goal setting, self-esteem, health, and related topics.
• Engage participants using inclusive, participatory methods such as group discussions, role plays, creative activities, and storytelling.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where all participants feel valued and heard.
2. Curriculum Planning & Adaptation
• Contribute to tailoring and contextualizing life skills curricula that reflect the specific needs of participants based on age, gender, and cultural background.
• Prepare session materials in advance and ensure activities are engaging and relevant.
• Ensure content promotes values of inclusion, responsibility, and personal empowerment.
3. Monitoring and Documentation
• Track participant attendance and monitor engagement during sessions.
• Submit timely reports and provide feedback to the program team on progress, challenges, and success stories.
• Support periodic assessments and gather input from youth participants for continuous improvement.
4. Community and Youth Engagement
• Liaise with caregivers, schools, and community leaders to raise awareness about youth development and encourage participation.
• Take part in outreach activities that promote life skills education and positive youth behavior.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• A diploma or degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, or a related field.
• At least 1–2 years of experience working with young people in training, mentorship, or facilitation roles.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, especially with adolescents and youth in crisis-affected settings.
• Understanding of adolescent development, gender-sensitive approaches, and child/youth protection.
• Fluency in English and at least one local language (Hausa, Kanuri, or Shuwa).
• Enthusiastic, energetic, and creative approach to learning and empowerment.
