Tearfund is looking to recruit a Deputy Country Director (DCD) to join our Nigeria team.
You will support our Country Director with overall responsibility for program development, implementation and resources mobilisation management of Tearfund’s Strategy in Nigeria and you will be responsible for the Safety and Security in the locations that Tearfund is implementing in its programmes.
Our ideal candidate will have substantial experience in:
- Strategic planning and thinking
- Leadership and people management
- Project and budget management
- Leading multidisciplinary teams
- Community development
- Security management
- Disaster risk reduction
- Acquiring and managing institutional funding and building donor relations
- Building relationships with and influencing senior leaders of partner organisations, church denominations, donors and other key actors
In addition, we are seeking someone fluent and competent in written and spoken English with excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and coaching/mentoring skills in cross cultural settings.

Please note: This role is fixed term for 24 months on an International non accompanied contract.
The job holder will be based in Jos with frequent travel to Abuja and Yola. Applicants must therefore possess a valid passport/visa stating the right to live and work in Nigeria.
