This position will be on secondment to the National AIDS and STIs Control Program (NASCP) and will work closely with the National Coordinator and team to drive the implementation of interventions to accelerate progress in PMTCT and Pediatric HIV services.

This position will also work in close coordination with EGPAF’s Country Program Manager and State AP3 teams. Other key stakeholders the position will regularly interact with include; CDC-supported Implementing Partners, other local partners and representatives from other normative agencies.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?  

  • Support the acceleration of progress towards the attainment of NASCP goals in PMTCT and Pediatrics
  • Work with NASCP on the rapid implementation of DELTA II AP3 project, focused on optimizing impact of PMTCT/Pediatric Programs in Nigeria
  • Oversee state-level PMTCT/Pediatric AP3 activities across all assignment strategies
  • Scale up social network and index testing strategy for adolescents and youth in selected states.
  • Facilitate effective utilization of joint PMTCT and Pediatric HIV Incident Command Structures at NASCP
  • Strengthen the implementation of community PMTCT and Pediatric HIV case-finding in selected states
  • Accelerate integrated, evidence-informed, comprehensive pediatric HIV service delivery through the use of Pediatric ART Case Managers in selected states
  • Monitor weekly PMTCT and Pediatric HIV surge meetings with granular data review at the states and follow up remedial actions
  • Support the documentation and dissemination of generated evidence from the project, to inform improvements in PMTCT/Pediatrics coverage cascade in Nigeria
  • Represent EGPAF at relevant national –level fora, scientific and technical meetings.
  • Generate routine program reports as required (monthly, quarterly etc.). Conduct data analyses where necessary
  • Provision of capacity building, hands-on mentoring and coaching including technical support to ensure interventions at the state and facility and community level are implemented according to agreed approaches and work plans
  • Develop, maintain and routinely update a dashboard of relevant program data.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of PMTCT and Pediatric trends in selected states  

To be successful, you will have:

  • Medical Doctor with a Fellowship in Pediatrics; registered with a current practice license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Extensive and up-to-date understanding of the HIV epidemic and response in Nigeria, including up-to-date knowledge of guidelines and key metrics.
  • Six years minimum experience supporting HIV programs in Nigeria.
  • Experience in collaboration with State actors.
  • Knowledge of global and national HIV prevention and treatment guidance and standards
  • Leadership/mentoring skills and good interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of responsibility and integrity.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using MS office packages including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook among others.
  • Strong analytical skills with good problem-solving skills & creativity, supported by good writing and data interpretation skills.

  Bonus points if you have: 

  • Technical expertise in PMTCT and Pediatric HIV programs will be an added advantage
