Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) Yola, Since its founding in 1977 as the social arm of the Catholic Diocese of Yola, JDPC Yola has embodied faith in action serving as a beacon of hope and transformation for conflict-affected communities across Northeast Nigeria. Far more than just an organization, JDPC Yola is a grassroots movement of compassion, resilience, and justice. Position Title: Compliance Technical Assistant

Job Description
The Compliance Technical Assistant Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of JDPC Yola’s compliance framework. This role ensures that all organizational activities, donor-funded projects, and internal operations adhere to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. The officer will work closely with program teams, finance, and senior management to promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure adherence to donor and organizational standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of compliance activities, including reports, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Support the preparation of compliance reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in donor regulations, national laws, and sectoral best practices, and advise on necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with program and finance teams to ensure risk mitigation and ethical implementation of projects.
- Assist in responding to audit queries and coordinating with external auditors or regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in compliance, audit, risk management, or related roles preferably in the NGO or development sector.
- Strong understanding of donor compliance requirements (e.g. EU, UN, etc.) is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. How to Apply
