Nigeria Health Watch is a not-for-profit health communication and advocacy organisation that seeks to advocate for better health for Nigerians. We have worked to actively engage and support the government in raising awareness and increasing knowledge on a wide range of health issues in Nigeria. We aim to hold duty bearers accountable for delivering affordable and quality healthcare to Nigerians. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Description 

  • Track and document impact of all Nigeria Health Watch projects and core offerings, including editorial, events, social media, etc.
  • Support the design and implementation of project monitoring and evaluation plans
  • Efficiently utilize Nigeria Health Watch impact tracking tools and develop new ones where necessary
  • Conduct routine data collection and analysis to track organizational and project performance against targets
  • Prepare periodic reports on project performance, progress and impact
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality of data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Facilitate learning and adaptive management by documenting and disseminating project results, lessons learned and best practices
  • Support the development of project monitoring and evaluation budgets and contribute to grant reporting requirements
  • Ensure development and proper documentation of process documents and standard operating procedures for key organisational activities and product offerings, for institutional memory
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organisation

Essential Competencies, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, International Development or related field
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and knowledge management in the health, development, humanitarian and/or communications sector
  • Strong skills in data management and analysis (quantitative and qualitative), report writing and presentation/visualisation
  • Experience with digital data collection tools (e.g., ODK, KoBo, etc.) and data analysis software (e.g., STATA, R, Nvivo, etc.)
  • Demonstrate confidence and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timelines, as well as proactively communicate with teammates and stakeholders
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
