The Life Spring Development Foundation (LSDF) is a Nigerian-led non-profit organization established by distinguished academics and seasoned development professionals with extensive expertise in adolescent reproductive health and youth economic empowerment. In response to the global movement for strengthen local leadership in Africa’s development, LSDF plays a critical role in Nigeria’s reproductive health landscape, traditionally dominated by international actors, by leveraging local expertise, global best practices, and strategic partnerships across public and private sectors. Its mission is to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through knowledge management, youth empowerment and the delivery of compassionate, comprehensive, stigma-free services.
In coordination with other development partners, LSDF is implementing the ACCESS Project across designated states in Nigeria including Taraba, Ondo, Ekiti, and Enugu. The overarching goal of these interventions is to enhance access to comprehensive family planning and post-abortion care (PAC) services by addressing stigma, fostering community participation, and reinforcing health system capacities. This project consists of two broad intervention pathways. These are, (1) Community Engagement and Referrals for Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) Services, focusing on demand generation and awareness creation; and (2) Domestication and Capacity Building for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) that involves strengthening the supply side of the intervention.

Role Summary
The MEL Assistant will support LSDF’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems by assisting in data collection, entry, validation, and reporting across all SRH and PAC projects. The role is essential for ensuring timely and accurate documentation of field activities, mentor performance, referral outcomes, and service delivery metrics. The Assistant will work closely with the MEL Manager, State Program Officers, and field teams to maintain high-quality data systems and contribute to donor reporting and learning processes. The MEL Assistant reports directly to the MEL Manager or Coordinator as directed by management, but with dotted line responsibilities to the State Programme Officer. This position may be required to support multiple States depending on project needs.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Public Health, Information Management, or a related field. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in data collection, entry, or monitoring and evaluation support roles.
- Experience working in community health or development programs in an NGO/CSO setting is an advantage.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English including the local language.
- Ability to communicate effectively with field teams, mentors, and community stakeholders.
- Familiarity with digital data tools such as ODK, KoboToolbox, and Excel.
- Understanding of basic M&E principles, data quality standards, and SRHR indicators.
- Knowledge of Nigeria’s PHC system and community health structures (e.g., CHIPS) is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse teams.
- Basic data analysis and visualization skills are an added advantage.
