Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) At Chabash development and Health Initiative (CDHI)


Chabash development and Health Initiative (CDHI) is a non-governmental organization dully registered with Nigerian government through Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT NO: 85190). Existing since March 2016, CDHI focuses on improving the quality of life of vulnerable population across communities in Northeast Nigeria. CDHI operates both in emergency and developmental context and have its programme principally rooted in identifying gaps that affects population and bridging those gaps through resource base planning and implementation.

Job Title: Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Assistant

Location: Michika, Adamawa State

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: Six months with possibility of extension

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in program updates for the response management and internal information sharing
  • Assist MEAL officer with data collection processes if needed
  • Conduct field monitoring visits (including the use of the Quality benchmark/monitoring checklist) and facilitating focus group discussions
  • Assist with implementation of program evaluations (data collection)
  • Support MEAL in conducting assessments as needed
  • Responsible for handling, documenting, confidentiality and security of all informational resource related to feedback and complaints from beneficiaries
  • Support Complaints and Feedback Mechanism, including communicating responses to complainants; liaise with program and operations to ensure prompt follow-up on feedback and complaints received.
  • Track program result indicator and target using CDHI MEAL plan indicator tracking tools.

Documentation and Dissemination:

  • Contribute to preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on MEAL.
  • Prepare field visit report and do debriefing and action planning with the relevant staff.

Quality Benchmarks:

  • To conduct quality monitoring of program activities, measured against international standards and using participatory methodologies (including child-friendly methodologies) and the quality benchmarks.

Coordination:

  • Coordinate and communicate with MEAL and relevant program staff regarding feedback and complaints
  • Maintain liaison with MEAL unit and program particularly field coordination/community mobilization team.

Requirements

  • The MEAL Assistant WILL be based in Michika.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Engineering Degree in Information and Technology Management, Statistics, or any other relevant equivalent Degree.
  • At least 3 years’ full-time experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, preferably with an international/national NGO
  • Be proficient in the use of computer applications (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Be proficient in the use of M&E tools
  • Demonstrated appropriateness of quantitative statistical management programs including, SPSS, KOBO, ODK, and EXCEL
  • Have excellent team, budget, project management and representation competencies.
  • Good use of English and Hausa languages.
  • Be committed to Action the CDHI’s mission, values, and policies.
