Background
Center for Child Care and Human Development (C3HD) is a Child Centered and Women Focused (CCWF) non-governmental, non-tribal, non-religious and non-profitable organization established and registered with state in 2017 and later registered as a non-profit organization with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
C3HD was established to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable communities and especially women and children, people with disabilities and those affected by conflict and insurgency through maximizing contributions to Health care and wellbeing, Education, WASH, Gender, social and disability inclusions, Protection, Peace Building, and Economic recovery and Livelihood.
C3HD is striving for an all-inclusive community and human development for all, including populations who are marginalized, underserved or affected by conflict or insurgency, catering to their health and wellbeing. We have a mission of transforming the lives women and children on the edges of society and help them regain and pursue their dreams for sustainable development.
C3HD acts as an agent for change. For 5 years and in 4 states (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Kano States), we help women and children to overcome the massive problem they face through reducing inequality in accessing health services and education, responding to violence and exclusion, promoting food security, empowerment, peace and resilience building of communities to be able to withstand and respond to future hardships. We employ “the protective communities’ approach” to our programming’s by mainstreaming safeguarding and protection in our activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Demography, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Management, Development Studies, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
- Formal training or certification in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Data Management, or ResultsBased Management (RBM) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian and development frameworks, including logical frameworks (logframes), theory of change, and outcome mapping.
- Strong ability to design and implement M&E systems, tools, and frameworks.
- Proficiency in developing indicators, baselines, and data collection methodologies.
- Skilled in quantitative and qualitative data analysis for project performance tracking and reporting.
- Experience conducting needs assessments, surveys, and impact evaluations.
- Proficiency in data analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, KoboToolbox, ODK, Power BI, or Excel.
- Ability to visualize data and present findings in clear and actionable formats (dashboards, charts, reports).
- Strong understanding of data quality assurance, verification, and database management.
- Skilled in developing and implementing Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) systems.
- Experience establishing feedback and complaint mechanisms to ensure community participation.
- Ability to document and share lessons learned, best practices, and success stories for organizational learning.
- Experience in planning, tracking progress, and reporting project outcomes in alignment with donor requirements.
- Strong coordination with program, finance, and field teams to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to train and mentor staff and partners on M&E and accountability tools.
- Excellent ability to write high-quality reports, case studies, and data summaries for internal and donor audiences.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into simple, actionable insights.
- High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to ethical standards, transparency, and accountability.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in humanitarian or development settings
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning within humanitarian or development programs.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems, tools, and frameworks at both field and organizational levels.
- Strong background in data collection, analysis, and reporting using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Experience working with donor-funded projects (e.g., UN agencies, USAID, ECHO, DFID, NHF, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building and training of staff and partners on MEAL concepts and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of an effective MEAL framework and tools for all projects.
- Ensure that MEAL systems are aligned with donor requirements, organizational policies, and project objectives.
- Support the development of logical frameworks, indicators, and results frameworks during proposal design.
- Ensure data collection processes are systematic, reliable, and consistent across all project sites.
- Oversee regular monitoring of project activities to assess progress against set targets and indicators.
- Coordinate field monitoring visits and data verification exercises to ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Manage data entry, cleaning, and analysis using appropriate software and tools.
- Maintain updated databases and dashboards to track performance across projects and programs.
- Coordinate baseline, midline, and endline surveys, including external evaluations when required.
- Facilitate after-action reviews, learning events, and reflection meetings to document lessons learned and best practices.
- Promote adaptive learning by sharing evidence-based findings to inform program design and decision-making.
- Ensure that evaluation findings are properly disseminated and integrated into project planning and strategy development.
- Strengthen accountability mechanisms, including feedback and complaint response systems, ensuring accessibility, confidentiality, and responsiveness.
- Ensure community feedback is regularly analyzed and integrated into program improvement.
- Promote staff and partner awareness on accountability principles and standards.
- Provide training, mentoring, and on-the-job support to program and partner staff on MEAL tools and methodologies.
- Build the capacity of field teams to collect, analyze, and report high-quality data.
- Provide technical guidance in the development of indicators, data collection tools, and reporting templates.
- Compile regular MEAL reports highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for program improvement.
- Support the preparation of donor reports by providing accurate and verified MEAL data.
- Document success stories, case studies, and lessons learned for internal and external sharing.
- Collaborate with program, finance, and logistics teams to ensure MEAL activities are integrated across departments.
- Represent the organization in MEAL-related coordination forums, cluster meetings, and donor engagements.
- Liaise with partners and stakeholders to ensure harmonization of MEAL approaches and standards.
- Ensure adherence to data protection and confidentiality standards.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of MEAL tools and revise them as needed.
- Ensure MEAL systems comply with donor and organizational policies, including safeguarding and accountability standards.
- Collect data and report to 5Ws in Education, Health, Protection, DWG, and WASH Sectors and other sectors as required.
