Purpose of Assignment: MHPSS Case managers will work in close coordination with the Senior Social Protection Officer on provide psychological and social support such as basic counseling, to internally displaced persons, refugees, returnees, and vulnerable host families at the MHPSS centers and community setting.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Technical:
• Create and provide Psychoeducation group sessions, under the supervision of the Psychosocial Supervisor.
• Work closely with the Psychologist in order to provide the necessary social services needed for the clients.
• Provide case management services for beneficiaries and provide referral to particular category of services within the MHPSS Center.
• Provide documentation for each session/interaction with a client.
• Outreach with families and carrying out field visits.
• Assist with creation and planning of activities for the clients.
Needs for MHPSS services:
• Keep updated on community programs and referrals.
• Work closely with the Outreach team to expand referral pathways and services for the beneficiaries.
• Assist in removing stigma associated with seeking help, in regards to mental health, within the community.
• Co-Supervise a team of volunteers that will assist in conducting the in-home assessments.
• Work with the Outreach team in providing orientation to every new team of volunteers on the assessment tool, referral to case management services, and SAMS PSS Programming.
• Work with the Outreach team in creating relationships with other NGO’s in order to expand referral network for beneficiaries.
• Work with the Outreach team in removing stigma associated with seeking help, in regards to mental health, within the community.
• Implement tools to measure beneficiary satisfaction with services provided to them from PSS Center.
• Data input of data gathered from case management form.
• Data entry related to tasks provided throughout the week
THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory Qualifications required:
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Counseling, Social Work, or Humanities Degree
• The MHPSS Case Manger must have minimum 3 years’ experience the area of Psychosocial intervention.
• Knowledge regarding IASC guidelines on Protection and MHPSS Services.
