Background

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded the Small-Town Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (STWASH) activity led by Mercy Corps in partnership with WaterAid to support the implementation of sustainable improvements in access to basic water and sanitation that are necessary to facilitate ongoing recovery, peacebuilding, and economic development across the region. The period of implementation is five years commencing on March 20, 2020, and ending on March 19, 2025. The STWASH activities will be implemented in the three BAY States of NE Nigeria, along with complementary activities to improve the delivery of water in the southern states of Abia, Imo, and Delta.
Purpose
Aligned with Mercy Corps’ commitment to ensuring donor reports are of high quality, the STWASH team is looking for a service contractor who will support in developing various high-quality reports that will be submitted to Mercy Corps HQ and USAID.
Scope of Work
The Consultant will conduct the following report-writing services.
- Develop the STWASH Annual report by 15 October 2024 and share it with the team for review. Incorporate all feedback from the STWASH team and Mercy Corps HQ and submit the clean copy by 25 October 2024. The assignment will only be considered completed when the report is approved by USAID.
Task 2: STWASH Quarterly Program Report
- Prepare the quarterly program report by 15 January 2025 and share it with the team for review. Incorporate all feedback from the STWASH team and Mercy Corps HQ and submit the clean copy by 25 January 2025. The assignment will only be considered completed when the report is approved by USAID.
Task 3: STWASH End of Program Report
- Develop the end-of-program report by 1 March 2025 and share it with the team for review. Incorporate all feedback from the STWASH team and Mercy Corps HQ and submit the clean copy by 20 March 2025. The assignment will only be considered completed when the report is approved by USAID.
Site Visit Schedule
The service provider may be required to travel to Yola during the development of the annual report and the end of the program report. All travel-related expenses will be reimbursed as per Mercy Corps, Nigeria policy.
Timeframe / Schedule:
The consultant shall be able to mobilize and complete the assignment as follows:
Task 1: STWASH Annual Report:
October 1, 2024, and complete when the report is approved by USAID.
Task 2: STWASH Quarterly Program Report
January 1, 2025, and complete when the report is approved by USAID
Task 3: STWASH End of Program Report
February 15, 2025, and complete when the report is approved by USAID
The Consultant will report to:

The Consultant will work closely with:
STWASH program team and PaQ team.
Required Experience & Skills:
The preferred consultant should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in management/social science or any relevant discipline and a minimum of 10 years of general working experience with the following specific experience:
- Previous experience in the WASH sector is essential.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent oral and written English skills.
