Main Objective and Responsibility

  • We are looking to fill the One (1) Mental Health Supervisor position in our Sokoto Noma & Emergency Response Project.
  • The main purpose of the position is to oversee and coordinate the delivery of high-quality MHPSS services for Sokoto project beneficiaries, ensuring effective implementation, supervision, and capacity building of the mental health team. The role also involves promoting collaboration, data management, and ethical standards while supporting the ongoing development and evaluation of mental health programs.

General Accountabilities

  • Coordinate and supervise daily mental health activities and ensure adherence to MSF protocols and standards.
  • Provide supervision and ongoing support to counselors and staff involved in MHPSS services.
  • Promote capacity building through training and workshops for MSF staff and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with local and international partners on mental health and referral services.
  • Oversee data collection, reporting, and the evaluation of MHPSS activities to ensure optimal program delivery.
  • Manage and ensure confidentiality of patient-related information and documentation.
  • Coordinate case management processes and provide psychosocial support to patients as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate evolving patients’ needs to adjust and improve program activities.
  • Maintain effective communication and teamwork within the MSF team and external partners.

Requirements (Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge)
To apply for this role applicants MUST meet the following criteria:
Education:

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, counseling or related field essential.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of psychosocial counseling experience with at least one of those years practicing under the supervision of a certified counselor/psychologist.

Languages:

  • Both written and oral competency in English and Hausa languages are essential.

Others:

  • Basic computer knowledge and skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook), demonstrated leadership/ management experience, ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary setting
