Contract Period: Indefinite

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing data entry of all epidemiological information into select databases program and creating appropriate reports, providing data for project development purposes.
  • Ensuring that all data entered has been authorized and that appropriate documentation has been received (patient records, treatment monitoring, etc.). Ensuring that all data entry processes occur in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring all data collected and entered to databases is consistently accurate and complete. Being responsible for ensuring that quality control queries of the database are followed up, ensuring identification of data entry errors and corrections. Immediately reporting to the supervisor, any anomalies in the database
  • Filing documents according to MSF standards
  • Communicating regularly with the HCW’s, assisting in the (re)training when necessary, on proper registration of patients, proper filling of the various forms, clarifying queries, obtaining missing information and correcting errors, ensuring they have ongoing sufficient supplies of necessary hardcopy data collection forms
  • Assisting in the compilation and preparation of regular reports and providing detailed information to medical and laboratory teams (weekly, monthly, according to patient treatment requirements).

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • Ensure that all database on weekly basis are diligently checked for any errors and eliminate bad data (redundant, incomplete and in incorrect data). Being responsible for ensuring that quality control, data cleaning.
  • Ensure that all unit (ATFC, ER/ICU, ITFC, <6 and Isolation) have correct and sufficient hardcopy data collection forms

On weekly, monthly on reguest basis to consolidate and aggregate all data collected at NKH and other sides.

        Ensure to provide technical support to the Data Entry Operators in the implementing of monitoring tools for new activitites as initiated in the project.

  • On Weekly, Monthly, quartely or basis of request, support in analysis of recorded data for key indicators for the project in order to facilitate the definition.
  • Ensure that all surveillance system are monitored

Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Information Technology (IT) /Mathematics and Statistics with proven computer literacy skills.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-years’ experience Data Entry and analysis essential. Medical data information management.
  • Previous experience in TB and or HIV Information management is an asset. E-health system added advantage
  • Languages: English essential. Local language (Hausa, Kanuri) desirable.
  • Knowledge: Average knowledge and understanding of Waste management and segregation in health facility.
  • Competencies: Results and Quality Orientated, Teamwork and Cooperation, Behavioural Flexibility, Commitment to MSF Principles, Stress Management.
