Grow Strong Foundation (GSF) is a child-focused, women and youth-led non-profit organization established in 2017. GSF is providing humanitarian assistance to Children, IDPs, and other highly vulnerable individuals in collaboration with NHF, UNICEF, and Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Northeastern Nigeria. As part of our commitment to achieving the objectives of our strategic plan, GSF is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the vacant position.
Location: GSF HQ, with oversight of field offices in Borno and Yobe State
Reports to: Operations Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Logistics and Security Officer will ensure efficient logistics operations and safeguard staff, assets, and facilities of Grow Strong Foundation. The role combines responsibility for transport, warehousing, and supply chain management with oversight of security protocols, risk assessments, and incident response.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Management
- Plan and coordinate transport of goods, staff, and materials to project sites.
- Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, and asset management.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of supplies in collaboration with the procurement team.
- Maintain accurate records of fleet usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
Security Oversight
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures for staff and facilities.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security briefings for staff.
- Monitor security incidents and provide timely reports to management.
- Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and security agencies to ensure safe operations.
- Train staff on personal safety, emergency response, and evacuation procedures.
Coordination & Compliance
- Work closely with program teams to align logistics and security support with project needs.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies.
- Prepare periodic reports on logistics performance and security status.
- Support crisis management and incident reporting processes.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Security Studies, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in logistics and/or security management, preferably in NGO/humanitarian settings.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, warehousing, and supply chain systems.
- Experience in security risk assessment and incident management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in high‑risk environments.
- High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics/security software.
