Purpose
- Logistician 1 provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, warehousing, stock management and statistics, in accordance with the ICRC’s logistics standards and local legislation.
Accountabilities & Functional Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth coordination across logistics units (Fleet, Transport, Warehouse, Procurement).
- Ensure compliance with ICRC logistics procedures and security rules.
- Demonstrate professional competence and mastery of Logistics.
- Follow up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments
- Provide logistical support to field sites under the supervision of the LSM
- Provides technical support and training for the operation and implements logistic procedures.
- Liaise with other logistics units in MIU (e.g. Supply Chain, Fleet, Warehousing, Dispatch, AirOps).
- Ensure ICRC procurement rules are applied.
- Analyse situation and proposes contractual partners.
- Develop contracts, maintains and updates a network of providers.
- Ensure that ICRC Logistics systems are in place and operational.
- Contribute to the development and advancement of Logistics.
- Ensure compliance with Logistics standards (set-up, processes, and procedures) and economic use of all resources.
- Ensure compliance with security rules and regulations pertinent to Logistics.
- Manage proper use of Logistics Information System (JD Edwards, Integrated Resources Information System IRIS)
Certifications / Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education degree in business administration, logistics or similar field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in logistics, administration, or similar position.
- Fluent spoken and written English. Knowledge of local languages an asset.
- Computer skills (proficiency in MS Office).
- Skilled in the following competencies: Autonomy & Responsibility; Planning, Organization & Assessment; Communication (Ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis.
- Driving licence
- Applicant must have a valid working permit to work in Nigeria
