HumAngle Foundation announces openings for a Lead Psychologist. We are looking for passionate professionals with dedication to social impact and supporting the mental health needs of civic actors in Nigeria.
As a country, we are steadily moving away from mental health being a taboo topic, but much misinformation and disinformation persist, not to mention the barriers to accessing mental health support. It is even more dire when we consider the secondary trauma that changemakers, nonprofit leaders, and journalists face. So, we are accepting applications from interested individuals to fill this role and contribute to this very important work.
What we are looking for
–Strong work ethic
-Commendable writing abilities and verbal communication skills
-Preferably a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in counselling and cognitive behaviour therapy
-Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology
-Strong facilitation and training skills
-Partner engagement skills
-High level of professionalism and respect for confidentiality
– Knowledge of mental health test administration, scoring, and interpretation.
Position Summary
The Lead Psychologist is primarily responsible for leading the mental health initiative of HumAngle Foundation, providing psychosocial support to civic actors in-house and externally. The role requires strong facilitation skills and the development of strategic plans that will support the sustainability of the organisation and the mental health initiative. The Lead Psychologist will report directly to the Foundation Director. This role is strictly for Abuja residents.
Role Details
–Provide psychological assessment, crisis intervention techniques and consultation services to individuals, teams, and organisations in the nonprofit space.
– Responsible for design of psychosocial support services for persons directly affected by conflict
– Identify and cultivate relationships in the nonprofit sector and generate relevant partnership proposals.
-Design and support the implementation of projects geared towards raising mental health awareness across various populations.
-Design and implement innovative workshops and webinars to share insight on mental health in Nigeria
-Lead external and internal mental health training workshops.
-Support grant writing where projects are related to mental health.
