Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. Médecins Sans Frontières provides assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict. They do so irrespective of race, religion, creed or political convictions.
We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:
Job Titles: Labourer, Cook & Cleaner

Responsibilities
Cook:
- Prepare meals for MSF staff, according to hygiene standards and security rules, in order to ensure their nutritional needs.
- Carry out the preparation of meals for staff
- Follow at all times all hygiene standards and security rules.
- Control stock of food so as to ask for anything needed on time and prepare shopping list and make purchases if required.
- Ensure meals to be served on time.
- If applicable set table before every meal and clean it up after each meal.
- Ensure cleanliness of all facilities, utensils and equipment.
- If domestic cook, ensure the provision of drinkable water during the day and when she / he leaves; cleaning, filling the filter and empty bottles, if necessary.
- Look after all equipment provided.
- Keep an inventory of MSF kitchen utensils and equipment, i.e. plates, glasses, cutlery, cookware, etc., and ensure its integrity.
Labourers:
- Carry out basic technical and logistics work, ensure the office and house environment are tidy and safe.
- Perform work in support of skilled workers in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, building structures, etc.
- Loading and unloading vehicles.
- Performing simple earthwork for fixing roads and drains.
- Ensure cleanliness of working, common areas
- Make minor repairs, changing light bulbs, repair locks, fix fences, painted surfaces.
- Look after the equipment provided.
- Inform superiors of any incident that may occur in the course of their work.
- Assist MSF staff carrying items, if necessary.
- Ensure there is enough water and report their scarcity
Cleaners:
- Execute, according to hygienic standards, housekeeping, cleaning and tiding up activities in order to ensure public and staff private areas are in good condition.
- Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets and other rooms in MSF houses.
- Do the laundry iron clothes and other housekeeping activities.
- Support the cook (washing up, cleaning the kitchen, etc.).
- Sweep and mop the floors.
- Restock supplies (toilet paper, soap, etc.) as required.
- Upon arrival, prepare hot water for tea/coffee and refill drinking water.
- Check that the toilets are well stocked with paper and soap.
- Check that the water supply (kitchen, showers, etc.) is sufficient during water cuts.
- Keep premises properly locked (doors, windows).
General Requirement
- Candidates should possess an SSCE / GCE / NECO quallification.
