We seek qualified candidates to fill the listed position. Each candidate must meet the minimum requirements listed in the advert and should be committed to the promotion of human rights, regardless of age, ethnicity, class, or gender. KEY ROLES AND RESPONBILITIES

1. Assist the Laboratory Team to provide laboratory oversight in HALG site and adherence to standard laboratory protocols in the country program.
2. Assist the Laboratory Team to ensure quality of laboratory services is maintained at all HALG supported sites/centers within your jurisdiction.
3. Performs basic laboratory assays CD4 tests, Hematology and Chemistry as well as other tests as required.
4. Oversees laboratory services provision, ensures standard, and current practices are in place for maintaining high quality laboratory services and maximizing the use of all resources.
5. Ensures compliance and implementation of laboratory protocols, and support other affiliated labs staff – Community Facilitators, Counsellor testers, Outreach Coordinators and Medics involved with the lab function;
6. Performs quality control checks and maintenance for the machine in the site lab, and other laboratory tests performed within the labs.
7. Participates in inventory control management/CRRF preparation for laboratory supplies and reagents for supported site;
8. Participate in EQA, proficiency testing activities.
9. Performs other care, treatment and evaluation duties as assigned by the laboratory Team Lead or designee.

REQUIREMENTS

1. A bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science from an accredited university or higher qualification
2. Valid Permit/License to practice as Medical Laboratory Scientist is mandatory.
3. Minimum of Two (2) years of successful laboratory management experience and ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of the current principles and techniques surrounding the management of laboratory services
4. Experience of running/implementing public health programs preferably in the NGO context.
5. Familiarity with standards and federal/state regulations affecting the laboratory and laboratory practices within an OSS and Field Locations.
6. Very good understanding and working knowledge of the health and HIV program priorities.
