We are seeking a motivated and organized Volunteer Procurement/Logistics Officer to support our supply chain and logistics operations while gaining valuable practical experience in humanitarian procurement.
Location: Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria
Duration: 6 Months (Renewable based on performance and organizational needs)

Position Summary
The Volunteer Procurement/Logistics Officer will support the implementation of procurement, supply chain, fleet, and warehouse management activities across TTHO projects. Working under the supervision of the Logistics Manager or Programme Manager, the volunteer will assist in sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and distribution logistics.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for young professionals seeking practical experience in humanitarian procurement and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
The Volunteer Procurement/Logistics Officer will:
Procurement
- Support the procurement process, including sourcing quotations and vendor comparisons.
- Assist in preparing purchase requests, purchase orders, and contracts.
- Maintain updated supplier/vendor databases.
- Ensure procurement processes comply with organizational and donor policies.
Logistics & Supply Chain
- Support inventory and warehouse management, including stock recording and tracking.
- Assist in coordinating transportation and distribution of goods and supplies to field locations.
- Support fleet management, including vehicle movement plans and maintenance tracking.
- Participate in receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming goods.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate procurement and logistics records (hard and soft copies).
- Support preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly logistics reports.
- Assist in stock reconciliation and asset registers.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in coordination meetings and capacity-building sessions.
- Ensure compliance with organizational procurement and logistics policies.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Experience
- Previous volunteer, internship, or work experience in procurement/logistics is an added advantage.
- Experience with NGO supply chain operations is desirable.
- Knowledge of humanitarian logistics will be an added advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of procurement and supply chain principles.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or tools is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and negotiation skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and in a multicultural environment.
- Willingness to travel to project locations within Borno State when required.
