The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Junior Associate – Food Systems Dashboard in Nigeria to support with the USAID Advancing Nutrition, Food System Dashboard implementation activities and partnerships at country level.

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis of up to 2 years (subject to funding) and is based in our GAIN Nigeria office in Abuja.

About the role

Reporting to the Project Manager, ENDSAND, The Junior Associate will be responsible for support on the USAID Advancing Nutrition, Food System Dashboard activities and partnerships at country level, to ensure continued, effective project delivery.

The postholder will provide administrative and logistical support to the project team ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the project.

Role specifics include;

  • Supporting with the implementation of Food System Dashboard project, including routine field visits and working with implementing agencies, market organizations and businesses
  • Supporting with various project components including tracking project timelines, developing documentation and creating project reports
  • Supporting the maintenance of a range of basic databases and filing system for the Food System Dashboard
  • Supporting with the Food System Dashboard team with travel logistics arrangements
  • Supporting minutes taking for meetings, seminars, technical sessions, and conferences
  • Working closely with GAIN Nigeria operations team in raising of Purchase Orders and processing related to payments for procurement of goods and services
  • Performing any other relevant tasks as assigned by the Project Manager

About you

Applicants will need to have demonstrated professional experience directly, or indirectly, related to product development, food systems, and international development, including implementation of market-based agricultural or nutrition programs and livelihood projects.

You will have proven experience in an administrative and/or project support role with previous experience supporting with project monitoring and reporting, logistics and procurement activity.

You must have sound communication skills that you can leverage to effectively manage stakeholders related to the project. In addition, you will need to be well organised with a good eye for detail to ensure that the project is delivered effectively and professionally.

Applicants will possess a Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field such as, business and marketing, food technology, agribusiness, development studies, economics, agricultural development, or another relevant technical field or work experience.

About our Offer

The starting salary on offer for this role is from 5,139,552 – 5,860,896 NGN per annum, dependent on experience.

GAIN has a fair and competitive salary structure that allows for annual progression subject to good performance.
