Interpreter for ZFD Conference English <>French At Bread for the World

We are looking for an interpreter for English – French / French – English for an international working meeting at Bread for the World in Berlin from September 8th to 12th, 2025. The participants come from the DR Congo, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cambodia and Germany. Familiarity with technical terms from development and peace work is an advantage.

We do not use booths, but rather “whispered interpreting” or consecutive interpreting. The interpreting is done by a team of two interpreters.

There will likely be two long days, with interpretation required from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and two shorter days, from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (including breaks in each case). Translation will be required on four of the five days.

Background of the meeting

Bread for the World currently implements nine country and regional Civil Peace Service (CPS) programs together with local partner organizations. Each program has a coordinator or team of coordinators. Bread for the World would like to organize an international meeting of CPS coordinators to promote learning and cooperation. We expect 11 coordinators to attend the meeting from September 8 to 12, 2025, at Bread for the World’s offices in Berlin. The meeting will be held in English with interpretation into French, as some of the coordinators speak only English or French. The primary responsibility for preparing the meeting lies with the Bread for the World CPS team.
