Center for Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) is established in 2018 is registered as an NGO with Head Office in Maiduguri – Borno State. We have been visible in Borno Adamawa and Yobe states implementing projects in protection, community empowerment, livelihood, environment, health, peace building, education and governance. We are currently implementing ‘Enhancing prevention and response services for child survivors of Gender-Based Violence, including conflict-related sexual violence and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse in North-east Nigeria’ a project with International Alert funded by UNICEF. POSITION(S): – Income Generating Officer
LOCATION(S): Maiduguri
DURATION: Seven (7) Months

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The IG Officer is expected to support the project team to implement access to finance and income generation program activities. S/he is required to have an educational background and experience in integrated development programs with a focus on household income generation and the formation and engagement of Village/Rural Savings and Loans Associations. Have strong communication and report writing skills. Possess values such as teamwork, equality, and strong work ethics. The IG officer ensures the implementation of Income Generating Activity training programmes for the 200 vulnerable women and girls in four locations (Bama, Gwoza, Fori IDP camp and Fori Host Community) to build their business skills in economically viable trades of their preference, conduct training in small business management, basic financial literacy, and management of SLS/Cooperatives.
CATAI and its partner will work with the IGO and Community-based Master Trainers to ensure qualitative and conflict-sensitive delivery of the IGA training programmes, which will be conducted in two tranches, to accommodate newly arrived and/or newly identified survivors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position will have the following responsibilities:
• Develop income generation programs for beneficiaries identified by partners on the project.
• Research and design income generation activities, IG Group (IGG) appropriated with actual situation of the project area.
• Survey to establish new IGGs in the project area; Carry out all procedures to establish new IGGs and cooperatives.
• Support the beneficiaries and their cooperatives to build up the constitution, business plan.
• Support IGGs, cooperatives, households, partners in the process of build-up proposals; Submit to Project manager for approval.
• Support actively Income Generating Groups and other beneficiaries implementing activities timely and effectively.
• Counsel and assist IGGs, cooperatives, households making production with a business plan and financial management plan.
• Deliver IG development policies, programs or projects from the officer to target beneficiaries.
• Record, track, store documents and data related to the IG activities; participate in evaluating the effectiveness, results of operations, report to the project manager.
• Perform any other related duties as requested.
