Background

HOPLE, a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political, non-religious organization was established in 2018 and registered in 2020. The organization started as an individual idea with a view of assisting the less privileged from his little savings; however, as he made progress with his mission, he discovered there was a need to extend hands to people who shared the same ideas with him; culminating into registering volunteers who agreed to make contributions to pursue the mission and vision of the organization. The purposes of its existence from the time of inception are:

  • Health and Nutrition

Mission

To put smiles on the faces of the vulnerable and less privileged people in society and promote their well-being by supporting them economically, educationally, and emotionally.

To actively contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which we operate, and to be an organization that continuously responds to changing social realities through the creation and application of knowledge, so as to develop a sustainable society that promotes the well-being of children, women, people with special needs, youth, and those who are vulnerable..

The organization has its Head office in Damaturu, Yobe state capital in northeastern Nigeria; and is planning to expand operations across Nigeria and the world.

Job Summary:

The Income generating activity (IGA) Facilitator under the United Nations Development Programs (UNDP) will training and build the capacity of the beneficiaries on income generating activities such as entrepreneurship, business management and vocational skills services delivered to vulnerable populations, the facilitator will help beneficiaries develop sustainable income generating activities, improving their economic well-being, and achieve greater financial stability. This project aims to promote peace and social cohesion in conflict affected communities, addressing the needs of vulnerable populations and supporting their recovery and resilience.

Responsibilities.

  • Business Planning: Assist beneficiaries in developing business plans, identifying market opportunities, and creating financial projection.
  • Mentorship And Coaching: Provide mentorship and coaching to beneficiaries to help them overcome challenges and achieve their business goals.
  • Market Linkages: Facilitate market linkages between beneficiaries and potential buyers, suppliers or partners.
  • Training And Capacity Building: Provide training and capacity building support to beneficiaries on income generating activities such as entrepreneurship, business management and vocational skills.
  • Skill Development: Provide training and support to beneficiaries on specific skills, such as financial literacy, marketing, or production techniques.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for policies and programs that support income generating activities and economic empowerment of marginalized communities.
  • Networking: Establish partnerships with other organization, government agencies, or private sector entities to support income generating activities.

Qualification and requirement:

Requirements: Applicant most at least have B.Sc. HND or Diploma in a relevant field such as Business Management, Economics or General Agriculture,

EXPERIENCE: Applicant most have at least 1-2 years of experience in facilitating income generating activities or entrepreneurship development. Familiarity with local context, culture and market condition.

  • Language proficiency in local language Hausa and Kanuri,

Additional Skills and Competence:

  • Communication Skill
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Team Player.
