Position Summary
- The Hygiene Promoter supports the implement supports the implementation of WASH activities by promoting safe hygiene practices, Raising Community awareness , and encouraging behavior change to prevent Disease.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community hygiene education and awareness sessions on safe water handling, sanitation and disease prevention.
- Mobilize and engage communities to participate in hygiene promotion and maintainance of wash facilities.
- Support the distribution and correct use of hygiene kits and materials.
- Monitor and report on hygiene conditions , behaviors, and functionality of WASH facilities. • Promote inclusive and gender-sensitive hygiene practices, including menstrual hygiene management.
- Collective feedback and complaints from community members and share them with the WASH/MEAL teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of Secondary School Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Community Development or related field.
- Must have 1-2 years hygiene promotion, community mobilization , or WASH programs,
- Basic knowledge of hygiene , sanitation , and public health principles.
- Good Communication and interpersonal skills
