The Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN) is a national civil society organization committed to advancing the rights, dignity, health, and socio-economic empowerment of women living with HIV across Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Location: Abuja
Type of Appointment: Fixed-term Contract
Contract Duration: One year renewable
Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Reports to: National Coordinator
Status: National Position
Objective
- To provide strategic and operational HR leadership that ensures effective recruitment, performance management, staff wellbeing, and compliance with labor and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Workforce Management:
- Implement HR policies and procedures aligned with ASWHAN and donor standards
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, contract administration, and staff records management.
- Coordinate performance management, learning, and development initiatives.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Manage disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws, safeguarding, and duty of care obligations.
Technical Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with a minimum 7 years’ HR management experience.
- Membership of CIPM is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices in NGO and donor-funded environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing recruitment for multi-location projects.
- Practical experience with performance management and staff development systems.
- Solid knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, safeguarding, and workplace compliance.
- Proficiency in HRIS, personnel documentation, and MS Office tools.
