We are recruiting internally and externally for the position below:
Job Title: Project officer
Location: Borno/Yobe
Duration: 3 months (with possibility of extension)
Objective:
The Project Officer will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects within the organization. The incumbent will work closely with project managers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure project activities are carried out effectively and efficiently, contributing to the achievement of the organization’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning:
- Assist in the development of project plans, including setting objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with project managers to identify resource requirements and coordinate procurement processes.
- Implementation Support:
- Facilitate project implementation by coordinating activities, meetings, and workshops.
- Provide logistical support for project activities, including travel arrangements, venue booking, and material preparation.
- Monitor project progress and identify any deviations from the plan, communicating these to relevant stakeholders.
3. Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Support the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for projects.
- Collect, compile, and analyse project data to track progress and outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports on project performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
4. Partnership Management:
- Liaise with project partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups, to coordinate activities and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
5. Capacity Building:
- Provide training and capacity-building support to project staff and partners as needed.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and learning sessions to enhance project effectiveness and sustainability.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration).
- Minimum of four years of experience in project management or related roles, preferably in the development sector.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and methodologies is desirable.
- Fluency in English and Hausa.
