We are dedicated to developing and implementing sustainable solutions for healthier people and planet. We focus on developmental and innovative approaches to promote environmental conservation, education, public health and harm reduction. Our mission is to empower communities and inspire action towards a more sustainable present and future.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Volunteer – Grant Writer Location: Remote

Employment Type: Volunteer Job Summary

  • Researching and sourcing for individual donors and funding organizations.
  • Keeping records to efficiently track the proposals.
  • Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to test prospects for corporate and foundation grants and Identifying grant funding opportunities.
  • Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals.
  • Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents.
  • Collaborating with Media and Communications Officer to send funders newsletters and reports.
  • Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
  • Assist with other fundraising projects as requested

Required Experience & Skills

  • At least two (2) years or more experience in grant and proposal writing.
  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Creative Writing, Grant writing is an added advantage.
  • Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors.
  • Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
  • Proficient with MS Office and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • A passion for community empowerment, development and innovation.

Time Requirement:

  • 10 -15 hours per week.

Remuneration:

  • Please note that this is a volunteer position and will not offer monetary compensation at this time, as our organization is in its initial stages. However, successful candidates will have the invaluable opportunity to gain significant knowledge and experience that can serve as a steppingstone in their career path
  • As our organization grows and secures funding, there may be potential for paid opportunities within the organization for qualified candidates who have demonstrated dedication and skill during their volunteer tenure.
