Women lead peace and prosperity in Guinea

Reference : Published as part of a programme to strengthen peace and stability in West’ Africa (PRPS)

This call for applications (RFA) seeks funding applications. The DAI is looking for applications from potential partners capable of implementing initiatives for women, including, peace and security as part of USAID’s programme to strengthen peace and stability in West Africa (PRPS).

USAID PRPS aims to support the implementation of local initiatives that promote the meaningful participation of women in conflict prevention and resolution, address the factors that contribute to the prevention of violent extremism (VIP), and build post-conflict peace and stability. These activities will contribute to the broader efforts of West African nations to address the risks of instability arising from conflict. The geographical area under consideration is the Fouta Djallon region of Guinea.

Applicants are encouraged to propose innovative and practical methods to increase the meaningful and active participation of women and girls in conflict resolution, including, peacebuilding and policies and initiatives to prevent and reduce poverty and vulnerability in their communities, countries and regions. Candidates can choose from a range of initiatives or develop existing projects that have yielded positive results.

The deadline for submission of all discussion papers for the first evaluation cycle is March 20, 2024 at 12pm.

This Request for Application (RFA) invites applications for funding. DAI seeks applications from potential partners able to implement Women, Peace and Security initiatives under the USAID Strengthening Regional Peace and Stability in West Africa (SRPS) Program.

USAID SRPS aims to support the implementation of local initiatives that promote women’s meaningful participation in preventing and resolving conflict, address factors that contribute to the prevention of violent extremism (PVE), and build post-conflict peace and stability. These activities will contribute to the broad efforts of West African nations to address the risks of instability stepping from conflict. The geographical focus under consideration is the Fouta Djallon region in Guinea.

Applicants are encouraged to propose innovative and practical methods for increasing the meaningful and active participation of women and girls in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and P / CVE policies and initiatives in their communities, country, and region. Applicants may choose from a range of initiatives or scale up existing projects that have shown positive results.

The deadline for submitting all concept papers for the first round of evaluations is March 20, 2024 at 12pm.
