Justice, Development and Peace Initiative (JDPI) is a non-governmental organization engaged in developmental works in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States for the past 50 years. JDPI also focuses on Agriculture, WaSH, Nutrition, MHPSS and other emergency programming, reaching out to all persons on the basis of need, regardless of creed, ethnicity or nationality.
JDPI is inviting suitably qualified candidates for the above-mentioned position to work in Jere, Magumeri LGA.

Post Description:
Food Assistance Officer will support the implementation of food assistance activities, in support with CRS team, including beneficiary targeting, selection and registration, community mobilization, training, monitoring and evaluation of project activities, coordination, and reporting. Through service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve. The Food Assistance Officer will support the coordination and implementation of food assistance activities, including vendor coordination and support, price negotiations, redemption monitoring, and preparation of vendor payments. The role includes close field‑level coordination with community mobilizers, participation in coordination meetings, support to registrations, retargeting, PDMs and other FA activities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation and Technical Support
- Support the recruitment and training of community mobilizers, closely monitor and supervise community mobilizers.
- Support vendor procurement and price negotiations in collaboration with the CRS Supply Chain Management team and assist with bi‑monthly vendor payment preparation after each redemption
- Provide support to beneficiaries and vendors in the utilization of e- vouchers and Red rose technology.
- Support Registration & Retargeting and MEAL teams with registrations, OSMs, PDMs, and other food assistance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Participate in field‑level coordination meetings (e.g., Area Based Committee and local food security meetings) and provide facilitation and interpretation support in local languages for training and community engagements.
- Conduct regular vendor spot checks before and during redemptions to confirm vendor readiness and availability of quality food commodities for project participants.
- In collaboration with CRS CAT Officer, review vendor transactions and document good practices from project implementation related to food assistance activities.
- Monitor the quality, quantity and prices of project vendors’ stock. ensure that project participants have value for money.
- Perform all other activities related to organization’s businesses in line with humanitarian assistance to the targeted communities of intervention.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Work with MEAL Team to capture and report relevant data.
- Provide timely reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on project implementation.
- Ensure accountability to beneficiaries and stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities, agricultural sciences, or any other relevant equivalent degree.
- Experince using Red-rose or any other e-voucher application.
- Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement.
- Languages: English and Hausa.
