Restoration of Hope Initiative (ROHI) is a National Non-Governmental Organization based in Yola with a field office in Maiduguri Borno State.
POSITION OVERVIEW ROHI is looking for dedicated staff to serve in Its Finance Department. A Person with a clear understanding of finance and procurement ethics, as well as the willingness and ability to enforce compliance with ROHI and donor policies and procedures. One with a high level of personal integrity, honesty and transparency in all cash handling that would effectively work as a team to support all financial-related activities. To produce quick and accurate documentation to support program activities.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports To: Finance Officer
Works Directly With: Finance, Operations and Programs Staff Supervisory Responsibility: None.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understand ROHI’s policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Maintain the bank file, ensuring that all bank information is properly filed and updated
• Prepare and Maintain filling records of all program activities and other related financial documents.
• Prepare Bank Cheques upon receiving payment schedule and disburse it to staffs
• Manage the archiving of all financial documents and follow up with staff for any missing documents.
• Ensure the petty cash count performed on time (weekly and monthly).
• Oversee the maintenance of all accounting records, ensuring that records are complete, accurate and safeguarded.
• Identify and follow up on any outstanding obligations and Keeps record of all cash, bank and advance updated
• Maintain the petty cash box and carryout weekly and monthly cash counts as directed by the supervisors.
• Print off all payment voucher and match with the document to be filled.
• Make sure that all supporting documentation is prepared.
• Make sure all required documentations are attached, calculations are correct, appropriate approvals and reviews are made.
• Keeps record of all finance documents and reports are properly filled, labeled and store in a clear and easily accessible manner.

• Assist the Finance department to enhance the efficient of existing control systems and any other duties assign.
• Manage petty cash and petty cash request daily.
• Conduct weekly cash counts for the office and submits the cash count sheets.
• Check that cash vouchers are properly filled (Accounting code, designation, budget lines)
• Ensure the monthly statutory deductions are remitted to the relevant institution in Maiduguri with proper record keeping and follow up where necessary.
• Review eligibility of all related expenses shown on invoices from vendors and service providers.
• Liaise with Finance Officer and Finance Manager regarding invoices validation, payments.
• Confirm that finance supporting documents for all expense reports comply with ROHI policy
• Liaise with Finance Officer and Finance Manager regarding invoices validation, payments.
• Ensure payment documents are scanned by the end of each month.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the line manager

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelors Degree/HND in Accounting/Accountancy,
Administration, Finance or relevant field

Experience: At least one (1) year of cognate work experience.

Soft Skills:

• Ability to work independently while under pressure and during long hours.
• Excellent work habits with a willingness to work in a multicultural environment.
• Excellent organizational skills, including proven ability in administration, financial and logistics.
• Excellent communication skills, including drafting documents;
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office especially MS Excel and MS Access.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
• Prior experience with computerized general ledger software is an advantage
• Accuracy in the processing of cash transactions, mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
