Location: Maiduguri, Borno State (with extensive field travel)

Duration: 3 months (renewable)

Role Purpose

The Finance Intern supports the finance department in processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, filing financial documents, and assisting with reporting. The role ensures proper financial documentation and compliance with organisational and donor requirements while contributing to smooth financial operations.

 Key Areas of Accountability

Financial Documentation & Transactions

• Assist in preparing payment vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents.
• Support the verification of invoices, advances, and expenditures.
• Assist with petty cash management and reconciliation under supervision.

Record Keeping & Filing

• Maintain organised financial files (both physical and digital).
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of receipts, invoices, and vouchers.

Financial Reporting Support

• Assist in compiling data for monthly expenditure reports.
• Support financial audits by preparing required documentation.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure adherence to organisational financial procedures and donor requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 0–1 year of experience in finance, bookkeeping, or related tasks.
• Familiarity with accounting software is an added advantage.
