Community Health Justice and Peace Initiative (JDPH) is a programme of the Catholic Province of Jos with geographical location covering Plateau State in the North Central part of Nigeria and Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Taraba, Borno and Yobe states in the North Eastern part of Nigeria.

 We provide humanitarian and developmental services to uplift the living standard of the most vulnerable. 

Location: Jos, Plateau State

Age: 25 – 35 years

Roles and responsibilities

  • To oversee the financial recording procedures, daily expenses and documentation of all financial transactions
  • To maintain and disburse amounts approved by the Executive Director
  • Prepare monthly Bank reconciliation reports and present same to the Programme Accountant
  • To verify and certify that funds disbursed are efficiently and effectively used
  • Initiate new methods and strategies that would advance financial procedure and process of the organization
  • Maintain petty cash book and ensure monthly cash count
  • Ensures all outgoing correspondence, reports are shared with the Programme Accountant.
  • Reporting discrepancies to the Programme Accountant
  • Raising of payment vouchers and ensure all supporting documents pertaining transactions are available before payments are made
  • Perform other related duties as directed
  • Report to the Programme Accountant

Essential skills 

  • Ensures effective use of resources 
  • Excellent Knowledge of English 
  • Computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Accounting software (Quick book)
  • Willing to learn on the job 

Educational Qualification 

Essential: University Degree or HND in Accounting from a recognized institution
