Background
Center for Child Care and Human Development (C3HD) is a Child Centered and Women Focused (CCWF) non-governmental, non-tribal, non-religious and non-profitable organization established and registered with state in 2017 and later registered as a non-profit organization with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
C3HD was established to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable communities and especially women and children, people with disabilities and those affected by conflict and insurgency through maximizing contributions to Health care and wellbeing, Education, WASH, Gender, social and disability inclusions, Protection, Peace Building, and Economic recovery and Livelihood.
C3HD is striving for an all-inclusive community and human development for all, including populations who are marginalized, underserved or affected by conflict or insurgency, catering to their health and wellbeing. We have a mission of transforming the lives women and children on the edges of society and help them regain and pursue their dreams for sustainable development.
C3HD acts as an agent for change. For 5 years and in 4 states (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Kano States), we help women and children to overcome the massive problem they face through reducing inequality in accessing health services and education, responding to violence and exclusion, promoting food security, empowerment, peace and resilience building of communities to be able to withstand and respond to future hardships. We employ “the protective communities’ approach” to our programming’s by mainstreaming safeguarding and protection in our activities.
Job Requirements:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated finance coordinator to join our team.
- The finance coordinator will play a key role in managing financial transactions, budgeting, and reporting activities.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and account receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare project budget and ensure transparency and accountability in the budgetary allocations.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor budgets and financial forecasts, providing analysis and recommendations as needed.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support decision-making processes.
- Prepare internal audits and regulatory compliance activities.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as required.
- Coordinate and be responsible for day-to-day oversight and managing all the domestic finances that come to the organization.
- Advice the organization on proper financial management and all issues related to finance.
- Take part in procurement process and ensure all finances spent are in accordance to the approved budget.
- Prepare and Submit Financial reports in a timely manner (Monthly, quarterly, annually and end of project report) to the donors.
- Ensure accountability and effective quality service delivery of all finance staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, an advance degree is preferrable.
- Proven experience (2 years) as a finance Officer or at least 1 year as a coordinator.
- Strong understanding of Quick book finance software.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- CPA certification (preferred but not required).
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Fluency in English and Hausa is required.
- Experience working on UN Project is an added advantage
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
